Committed to Community
A native of Macomb, Illinois, James P. LeFante has spent his much of his life and law career in central Illinois and the Peoria area. Jim attended Western Illinois University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1992. He then attended and graduated from the John Marshall Law School in 1996. He worked in Chicago, Illinois and Nassau County, New York for several years before returning to Peoria in 2001. Jim is licensed to practice law in both Illinois and New York. He is a member of the Peoria County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
He is passionate about the importance of community involvement, and spends many hours volunteering his time and energies to a variety of notable causes. Among his many activities, Jim served on the Education Committee of St. Philomena School, where he, his wife and four children are parishioners. He’s also an involved member of the parish’s Men’s Club, and he and his law firm are generous sponsors of the parish’s golf outing, fall festival and fish fries. Jim’s also an enthusiastic supporter of the St. Jude Children’s Hospital golf outing, The Christian Center, Catholic Women’s League of Peoria, the Peoria Notre Dame Junior Football League, and Peoria Notre Dame Football and Baseball.
When he’s not hard at work in his law office, Jim can be found happily chauffeuring his four active children to their many activities and enthusiastically cheering them on at their sporting events. Jim also enjoys traveling, scuba diving, reading and spending time with friends and family.
