Boyd O. Roberts III is a proven attorney with extensive experience advocating for both individuals and businesses across a range of legal issues, including arguing cases before the Illinois Third District Appellate Court. His legal expertise spans numerous practice areas including personal injury, workers’ compensation, family law, criminal defense, commercial disputes, and more.
A native of Wheaton, IL, Boyd embarked on his legal journey with a Political Science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, followed by a juris doctor from the DePaul University College of Law. His determination and tenacity in handling cases have earned him the reputation of being a relentless litigator, always thoroughly prepared to argue the most complex cases in pursuit of his client’s best interest. Yet, Boyd prioritizes practical, sensible negotiation when helping his clients avoid litigation may result in a more favorable, and cost-effective outcome. Boyd’s commitment to excellence extends beyond LeFante Law Offices, P.C; he is a member of the Peoria County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and the Abraham Lincoln Inns of Court. He is also currently admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois and before the United
States District Court for the Central District of Illinois. He previously served as a lecturer for the Peoria County Bar Association Brown Bag Lunch seminars. Boyd attended and graduated from the Peoria Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership School in 2009 and was named one
of Peoria’s 40 Leaders Under 40 in 2009. He was appointed by the ISBA President as a Director to the ISBA Workers Compensation Section Council in 2012. In 2019, Boyd was named a Leading Lawyer by the Law Bulleting Publishing Committee in the State of Illinois.
Beyond his professional life, Boyd’s influence reaches into the Central Illinois community through his past leadership roles on several boards, including those focused on health, community service, and sports. Boyd previously served on the Board of Directors for the Cancer
Center for Health Living, the Hult Center for Health Living, St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral and the Peoria Soccer Club. He and his family actively support several local charitable organizations, including Neighborhood House, American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association and Easter Seals.
Boyd and his wife Alison have five wonderful children together. When outside of the courtroom he enjoys passionately cheering for the University of Illinois, Chicago Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks. He also enjoys spending family time at a lake home that has been his family for over 100 years.
